The 2023 Yamaha WaveRunner Review

November 11, 2022 12:00 am Published by Leave your thoughts

The Yamaha 2023 jet ski spotlight was turned on to unveil the much-awaited return of the WaveRunner series. This watercraft has earned plenty of fans over the years, thanks to its impressive balance of price, comfort, and performance.

For its 2023 iteration, fans can look forward to quite a few changes, although nothing too drastically different from the 2022 or 2021 versions. Still, the latest is the newest!

Color Options

The first thing you’ll notice about the 2023 Yamaha WaveRunner is that it switched up the colors. Now you can enjoy your watercraft in an eye-catching Azure Blue or Cyan if that’s more preferable.

Other exciting color choices include the cool Mint and the fiery Torch Red. Of course, classic black is still in fashion, but this time they’ve also added Titan Gray to the mix.

So if you want to make your way out into the waters looking as fresh as you can be, make a bold choice with one of these bright, new color options!

Rec Deck Improvement

One of the most notable changes in the 2023 WaveRunner is the Rec Deck. Whereas all other previous models come with pre-drilled holes for the platform, this new iteration will have these holes sealed up. At least until you want to add the Rec Deck accessory yourself.

This is a welcome change, especially because it makes the Rec Deck installation so much easier. Also, it makes for a much easier upsell, too.

Another thing to look forward to is the fact that the Rec Dec will, in fact, be offered along with the VX and GP lineup. That means more space for your coolers, accessories, fishing rods, and other water fun essentials and whatnot.

FX & Speaker

With the exception of the base model, all FX models will come with Yamaha’s own premium audio system. This will feature a touch screen, the size of which will depend on the model you will get.

The FX HO and FX Cruiser HO get the 5-inch color touchscreen, while the SVHO, Cruiser SVHO, and Limited SVHO will have the bigger 7-inch color touchscreen. New features have been added to the touchscreens, such as a GPS-based speedometer, fuel gauge and tachometer, phone and mail notification, Bluetooth indicator, and cruise control.

The display bar can also be set to indicate all the information you need about your trip, including low fuel, engine oil, intake air temperature, diagnostic codes, master warning, and so much more.

The speaker system for the FX models also has a mic function, which you can sync to your phone for smoother calls. Tucked away in the glove box are the LED light and USB port as well.

Although it may be said that the WaveRunners in 2023 don’t come with as many changes as previous iterations, the ones that they do have still make it worth a look, especially if you missed out on the 2021 and 2022 iterations.
